Who We Are

Sarah's the one who had the crazy idea to start this firm back in 2012. She'd spent 8 years at a big downtown firm and got tired of the whole "bill as many hours as possible" mentality.

She handles most of our high-stakes commercial litigation and honestly, she's got this weird ability to stay calm when everything's going sideways. Called to the Ontario Bar in 2004, McGill Law grad.

Outside of work, she's usually training for another marathon or trying to convince everyone that her homemade kimchi is better than store-bought (it is).

Marcus joined us in 2014 and brought serious courtroom chops. Before that, he was doing criminal defense work but wanted to switch to corporate because, in his words, "the clients actually answer their phones."

He's got this no-nonsense approach that clients really appreciate. Won't sugarcoat things but also won't create drama where there isn't any. Osgoode Hall Law School, called to the Bar in 2008.

He's a huge Raptors fan and will definitely talk your ear off about basketball if you let him.

Rachel's background is kinda unique - she did 5 years in corporate insurance before going to law school. That combo makes her ridiculously good at spotting risks that other lawyers miss.

She started our risk assessment division in 2018 and it's become one of our most popular services. Called to the Ontario Bar in 2011, University of Toronto Law.

She's really into rock climbing and somehow convinced half the office to try it. Most of us gave up after the first session but she's still going strong.

David specializes in business formation and corporate governance stuff. He's worked with everyone from solo entrepreneurs to mid-sized companies doing M&A deals.

What makes him great is he actually remembers what it's like to not know legal terminology. He'll walk you through everything without making you feel dumb for asking questions. Western Law grad, called to the Bar in 2013.

Big foodie who's always got restaurant recommendations. Just don't get him started on the proper way to make jollof rice unless you've got time.

Jennifer handles our intellectual property work and regulatory compliance matters. She came from a tech startup background, so she gets how important IP protection is for growing companies.

She's also the person you want handling regulatory audits - super detail-oriented and weirdly enjoys dealing with bureaucratic paperwork that would drive the rest of us nuts. Queen's Law, called to the Bar in 2015.

Total coffee snob who brings in her own beans and judges everyone else's choices. But she shares, so we forgive her.

Ahmed's our contract guy. If you need something drafted or reviewed, he's your person. He's got this talent for finding the one clause buried on page 47 that could come back to bite you.

Before joining us, he worked in-house at a manufacturing company, which gave him real perspective on what businesses actually need in their contracts. York University Osgoode, called to the Bar in 2012.

Plays in a recreational hockey league and insists he's way better than he actually is. We've seen the game footage, Ahmed. We know.
